laptop desk or cooling mat?
I’m a devoted desktop user but, 6 months ago, Husband finally bought into the 21st century w/a 17″ HP Pavilion notebook. He spends a lot of time in a recliner watching tv. Notebook is on a sofa cushion which is on his lap. Notebook, unless it’s at his desk, runs on battery. He uses the laptop for internet surfing & gaming… nothing more strenuous than hearts, etc.
A week ago, the cursor on the touch pad quit, then the hard drive shut down. I eventually rebooted it by removing & replacing the battery. Yep… HP Help said the notebook is getting overheated; get it off the cushion & on to a cooling mat.
I bought him an Antec cooling pad to put on the sofa cushion but he doesn’t like the thought of it running off the laptop battery. I have also tho’t of a wire rack for cooling cookies. & he likes the idea of a laptop desk w/holes & adjustable slant.
I would appreciate reading of other people’s experiences w/laptop desk & cooling mats. Thanking you, Emjay
