Do you teach someone else how to play a video game fully, or do you teach them just enough?

I know that some people find pride in teaching someone else to play a video game well like Halo or Guitar Hero so that they can whoop butt on their own, but then there are those that just want you to know the basics so they can use you as a decent punching bag. I’m the type of person who will teach you enough to learn on your own, but I won’t play you until you’re a good match for me.

What about you?

You don’t want to create a clone so give them a good base and some advanced tips then watch and only comment after it’s over about how they could of done it different. If they succeed, give them “grats” and offer alternatives but never say they were wrong. Hard to be wrong if they win.

Also always be aware that some gamers (like me) learn by jumping into the deep end. You may have to burn them to the ground before the Phoenixex can rise from the ashes.
