Bar Table Swivel
How much does it cost for movers?
I don’t have my licence and need to rent a moving truck and movers.
these are the items that will be moved…
-1 bed
-1 couch and matching chair
-small kitchen table with 2 chairs
-2 bar stools
-a computer table and swivel chair
-3 tvs
-a few plants
-probably about 10 boxes
-small dresser
-Night Stand
-a few lamps and 2 fans
also I am moving about 15-20 minutes away from my current place…. it should only be one trip as well
it is pretty expensive, but most places charge by the hour and the amount of men needed. Most places will quote you a price of, say $75 an hour and give you an idea of how many hours it will take to do the job. When they quote you a price…double that. Moving companies are notorious for ripping people off and being a lot slower than they should be. You can minimize this by packing everything yourself and having everything ready to go for them. Take your bed apart so that the headboard is not attached. If you don’t, they will do it and take their time. Also, you might want to go to home depot and get some shrink wrap for your stuff so it doesn’t get scratched, or get some old blankets. The moving company normally doesn’t charge for blankets, but they will charge for shrink wrap and if it is raining, they will pressure you into getting it, otherwise your wooden stuff will get warped. If you have a mirror on your dresser they will wrap that in bubble wrap and a cardboard box and charge you extra for that. They often charge extra for tvs too. They charged me an extra $40 to move my plasma tv. The better you are prepared, the quicker they will get in and get out. Also, you can tell them not to set anything up when you get to your new place. That will save time and $$$. Good luck.
