When it comes to fun in the sun, southern California has it all. With tropical climate all year round average water temperature of 78 degrees, perfect waves, excellent restaurants, and numerous stations on the seafront, this earthly paradise, also picturesque ports and has a coastline full of bright sand, surf and sun.
Not only is home to millions of people, but that attracts millions more each year worldwide. If you are a California resident looking for the best beach to sunbathe for a day or two, or you are planning a family vacation your kids remember for a long time to come, you will find some beaches to add to your itinerary here.
Here are six of the best beaches in California, including beaches, tranquility, and some beaches are particularly nice to visit families.
1. Santa Monica Beach. The response of the West Coast Coney Island, this magnificent stretch of sandy beach, located in the county seat of Los Angeles boasts the famous Santa Monica Pier, which houses its own park amusement over one of the oldest wooden piers on the west coast. The site also has appeared in dozens of films and television programs. Take a walk sunset on the Ferris wheel with a spectacular ocean view. Enjoy lunch or dinner at various restaurants in the area and be sure to visit nearby attractions including Venice Beach and Palisades Park. This is a place that is sure to make a splash with the entire family.
2. Newport Beach. A little more exciting fashion and real estate located in Orange County, Newport Beach offers locals and tourists a variety of activities. Walk through a scenic road, embarking on a refreshing harbor cruise, or go boating, diving, bodysurfing or dinner in most restaurants include a panoramic view of the ports. Be sure to visit the Zone Fun and Balboa Pavilion.
3. Cardiff Beach State. Located in San Diego County, this recreation center has lifeguards, restrooms and a gently sloping beach for sunbathing, fishing, swimming, surfing and kayaking. People love Cardiff State Beach for its quiet beach, casual, less people and fine restaurants. Nearby attractions include Restaurant Row, offering delicious seafood and Mexican food, San Elijo Lagoon, which boasts great bird watching, and the Mercado de Mar, where you can buy a wide variety of foods and snacks.
4. La Jolla. If your preference is coves and unique landscapes, then visit these beaches in San Diego County will definitely be on your itinerary. The versatility of the beaches of La Jolla makes it ideal for fascinating and charming getaway or can be a lot fun for the whole family. Investigate the underwater marine life while snorkeling or simply walk barefoot along the coast. Nearby attractions include the Scripps Institute of Oceanography and the Stephen Birch Aquarium Museum.
5. Oceanside City Beach. Tropical Palm Trees stretch along the shores of this quiet beach located in eloquent northern San Diego County. Take a walk, bike or skate on what is called "The Strand" (The main street near the beach) or spend time in fishing from the pier in Oceanside. Near the town of Cape Cod offers a lot of good restaurants and the beach has lifeguards and restrooms.
6. Coronado Beach. If you is in San Diego, you'll love the wide expanse of beach in Coronado with plenty of room for the family out. While the kids are playing volleyball, soccer or a label, or throwing frisbees, kites or building sand castles, you and your spouse can relax and enjoy the waves, sand and seagulls.
This charming place is the home of the famous Hotel Del Coronado, just a short ferry ride away from San Diego Bay. Or you can choose to pack everything you need to a day at the beach and drive across the Bay Bridge. No food is sold on the beach, so be sure to bring snacks, drinks and other snacks. Free parking on Ocean Avenue, but fills up quickly to try to arrive early.
