I’m dressing as Madeleine McCann for a Halloween party tonight. Could this be construed as offensive?
Basically, you may not know this, but a little girl went missing about a year and a half ago. Her name is Madeleine McCann. This story has received virtually no media attention at all – it was mentioned in passing in a Portugese newspaper a few days after her disappearance, and there’s been nothing else.
Amazingly, Madeleine bears an uncanny resemblance to Frankenstein’s monster – like the famous beast, she too is about 6 ft tall with an oblong head, a thick, black wall of hair, and green skin. Incredibly, family photos indicate that she even has a couple of bolts lodged in her neck.
The thing is, I’m a little worried that I might upset people. I imagine that it could be quite difficult to get someone on my side after explaining that I’ve come to the party as a missing person. Maybe I should just go as a tomato instead, or a massive nob with all jiz coming out the end.
Some people have a very twisted idea of ‘humour’.
