Do you see or feel that blacks are getting into college more?

That there are more black owned businesses.

That they are in politics more.

That they’re more black executives.

Grades are getting better?

Just in general.

Compared from know to the 50, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, or whatever.

Sure they are. The most obvious indicator is how many blacks are viewing black streotypes, and are standing up to denounce them. Dave Chappelle, The Boondocks. The movement started by Paul Mooney, and being jumped on by Russell Simmons (?!) about using the N word. The move to get more and more black people interested in school than selling drugs.

I know this comment will be incendiary, but heck… you cannot rail against a stereotype when you exemplify that stereotype. I’m not talking about blacks, in general, I’m talking about the stereotype. But, that is a stereotype. I think that the reality is that more and more blacks are less interested in perpetuating the stereotype, and more interested in getting more out of life. Any failure by blacks, in the fields you mention, is demographically no more or less than that of any other ethnicity (whites included), but that’s America.

What about the French footballer (a black dude) who gets bananas thrown at him in Europe? That would never happen in this country, without having disastrous legal consequences for the small-minded fruit slinger. So, yea, I think that blacks are definately making progress in American culture. Luckily, so are whites, in that our attitudes are changing. People like Straumm Thurmond are known to be fools, and KKK members cannot reveal their identities without backlash from blacks and whites both.

Now if only we could do away with ‘hate crime.’ Your sentence should be the same, regardless of the color of the victim.

I would like to add that there are fewer black executives than whites because they are a minority (fewer in number). If half your bosses are white, and half your bosses are black, but the company’s associates are 70/30 %, then that is not equality. This is the reason affirmative action has passed away. When you hire a person to fill a quota based on color, then it is still primarily about color.
