Floral Shower Curtains – Old World Comfort In Your Bathroom

A floral shower curtain can be a fantastic addition to the bathroom; even a bathroom that is rich in modern based elements. This traditional style in shower curtain design is a classic favorite for many, but earlier designs that exhibited the classic, vivid colors are known to clash in many modern based color schemes that consist of rich neutral based colors. As a result, their popularity has diminished in the mainstream as the contemporary style has picked up. However, recently, some designers have combined this classic design with modern aspects, giving them a whole new look; and the response has been overwhelmingly positive in terms of consumers.

The floral design is still considered a classic style that is prevalent in many rustic or country themes, particularly in bathrooms. This design typically exhibits a white backdrop, usually an off white like cream or pearl, with vividly colored roses or other assorted types of floral arrangements. In terms of a floral shower curtain, these designs portrayed many different types of flowers, roses and tulips being the most popular. However, due to their vivid color schemes and water color print style, these designs have faded from the mainstream due to their clashing with modern style elements.

Updated Modern Designs

The floral shower curtain design has received a complete modern overhaul over the past few years. New designs, while still staying true to the outdated basis of older models; exhibit new color schemes and patterns. Typically, newer floral designs portray rich, neutral based color schemes; typically black, gray, brown, or darker shades of green and blue. These updated color schemes play a vital role of giving the curtain the ability to meld well into an existing modern bathroom theme.

Aside from the color schemes, the updated floral shower curtain designs exhibit unique and aesthetically pleasing patterns. Many of these patterns are complete opposites of the classical water color based portraits that were prevalent on the outdated designs. Some of the most popular designs consist of simple vertical or horizontal patterns that show various interlinked floral arrangements or single flowers that consist of non vivid colors schemes. These designs offer the pop that a floral shower curtain generally does; but the allowance of incorporation into modern bathroom themes due to their modern elements.
