What is the best way to make cinnamon bread sticks?

I have an original tube Pillsbury bread sticks. I have also, cinnamon, sugar and butter drizzle cream cheese frosting. What would be the best way to do this? Do I just cook the bread sticks to package directions then butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar or I melt the butter with the cinnamon sugar mixture, then roll the bread sticks in butter or butter I put and cinnamon before baking them. Have you ever tried this before?

Cut the bread sticks into pieces the size of a walnut, roll in sugar and cinnamon and place in pan. Bake as directed, let cool 10 minutes. then remove from pan by placing a plate over the pan and deliver the two together. When completely cool, drizzle the top with cream cheese frosting.
