Does the color Wenge (wengue) come from a tree named likewise?

THIS COLOR IS NOW VERY STYLISH ON CONTEMPORARY FURNITURE.

My guess would be yes. I’m not familiar with this wood, but from what I have found it is greatly enjoyed for its wide variety of Color Change from “the yellowish color it is when freshly milled to a deep chocolate/black brown when aged.” The aging prcess takes only a few months and variations of orange occur during this time. The link below tells a little more about the wood, including a picture of its final dark color. A wooden chair I saw for sale was a burnt-orangish color, so I imagine that’s the reason for some oranges being associated with it.
