Cookie Dough recipe for children so they can use cookie cutters?

So I got this set of cookie cutters for kids. What type of cookie (and mass) are the best? I remember as a kid my mom made ​​a big batch of dough. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and chill the dough for at least an hour (or overnight). 2.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Stretch dough on a floured surface 1 / 4 to 1 / 2 inch thick. Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on baking without greased sheets. 3.Bake 6 to 8 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool completely
