How do I replace a tub spout with a 1 inch adapter soldered onto the copper nipple?

I have a copper nipple with a 1 inch diameter brass adapter soldered onto it. The old Delta brand spout fits right onto this, but it leaks. I’ve been to Menards, Home Depot and Hardware Hank with no help from any of them. The universal spout repair kits are only made for 1/2 and 3/4. In the end, I put the old leaky spout back on so that my family can still shower. Anyone know much about this 1 inch problem? Do they make spouts for 1 inch nipples?

First of all did you wrap the threads on the nipple with Plumbers Teflon tape? This may be your problem. If not then just re solder a nipple of the size you need onto the 1/2 inch line. Sorry but this is easy if you really try.
