Dummy Lever

My turn signal lever will not stay up!?

The down position (left signal) works fine, but when I switch it up (Sign on the right) that fits down immediately. I have to endure during the drive, which can be dangerous. I'm no fool when it comes to mechanical things, but I'm no auto mechanic either. Can you solve this problem at home, or should I take to the store? If I take it to the store, what could I get to pay, since it is a seemingly simple problem? This is a 1995 Chevrolet Corsica.

change the switch requires simple hand tool and the ability of cables used to connect and disconnect switches are cheap and work should be available for your car. (You have to pull the wheel, but it is not difficult, really)
