Egyptian Cotton Hand
How do you get rid of moldy smell from “clean” towels?
I bought really nice huge, fluffy, Egyptian Cotton Towels from Restoration Hardware and made the mistake of leaving them in my washing machine overnight. Now, (no matter how much I wash them), they smell clean after being washed and dried, but as soon as I go to dry myself off or wipe my hands, a moldy smell comes from them.
It is not the machine because I clean that out once a week and none of my other clothes smell, not even my other towels, just the expensive ones. Hmm… maybe I need to only buy cheap towels. Can someone shed some light on this dilemma?
First off DON’T use liquid softener on them. It makes them less absorbent & stinks when you dry off on them. I use dryer sheets only! Next to get the smell out for now add a cup of white vinegar to the final rinse.;)
