do your cats do this?

My older cat always would meow at the bathroom door, claw, and pester me until I would let the cat in if I was showering or bathing. Of course my younger cat picked up this habit too. I have little problem with it, but I find this really strange. My cat seems concerned and worried… like they need to guard or watch over me… They seem to think me crazy, for these cats have puzzled expressions… I heard domesticated cats were originally desert cats way back in their genetic history… Are my cats just weird or does anyone else have cats who do this?
