Why only lukewarm water from kitchen faucet?

I realized about a week ago that my kitchen was warm water temperature. I have single-handle faucet in the kitchen sink. All keys to my apartment are that way. I checked the water temperature in the bathroom. It comes out hot in the sink bath and shower. The hottest temperature in the kitchen faucet is warm. My husband thinks it might be something wrong with the mixing valve on the key itself. "The key water must be replaced in the kitchen? A new faucet resolve the temperature problem? Thanks for the replies. The hot Water Valve is open the whole way. So that is not the hot water valve. It's horrible doing dishes. I have to boil water to make sure it is sanitary. I will inform the landlord about the tap. He is quick for repairs.
