Federal Pacific Breaker Box!?

I just got a new house in another neighborhood and went to make out the breaker box to turn the house to install new outlets and light switches. I first notices that he has only 60 amp service principal. This is the way way low for what I need. I weld (metal fab) and this house has central air conditioning, so I need to run at least two portable units to cool the house. There, and I'm using more than half my total amp! DTE and I wondered what I'm looking to pay for a new 125 amp box installed? Do I have to contact with DTE to see if I need a bigger fall from the pole? Any help would be great.

I recommend jumping up 150amp (at least) or the 200th service possible. You did not say if you have a garage where they are setting up shop or not. The house has an amplifier 60, and when I got to thinking about sending more than one (1) 15 amp receptacle with the lights of the garage, I decided to do well. I upgraded the house to a full 100Amp, due to the addition of a 14 'X 28' bay to the garage for a work area, I decided to dump the garage to an amplifier 100 as well. When you get to calculate the cost of materials, the differences between 100, 150a, 200a and there is no controversy as to which way take. I recommend doing what you can afford – now, or wait to do it once and save. As for labor, any good electrician should be able to give an estimate fair. I do electrical work here in Buffalo New York, and do not charge any difference between 100, 150a, 200a and the hook up. Only by changing the service boxes, the meter and the panel are not so bad. You can then add the same circuits as needed, in his statement.
