What do i do when the polyurethane i bought to finish off my wooden cabinets dry up in the can itself?

Get a new can. For future use, exhale (carbon dioxide)into the can just before closing it up (and make sure you close it tight) Oxygen is what reacts with the chemicals to harden it. Won’t make it last forever, but will buy you a few months to a little more than a year. Works with all paints and finishes, btw.
