pet health question, my dog (pomeranian) has what seems like a polyp on his behind that seems inflamed?
i noticed he was licking himself a lot the last couple of days, when i looked it was all inflamed and almost bleeding. i have heard that dogs have a gland near their behinds that can get irritated. i have a put what looks like a foam life preserver around his neck so that he cant lick himself anymore. is there anything else i can do or something that i can buy for my pomeranian to deal with this inflamation. its not fleas, cause that was what i thought he had at first. thank you for any tips
Your dog’s anal glands are impacted and he needs to be taken to the vet to have them expressed before they become infected or abscessed.
Do this today because he is in pain and if the glands abscess and rupture you will have a much more serious problem.
