How can I fix the garbage disposal system?

Every time you turn the garbage disposal does not work at all. The water in the sink is backed up as well. I tried to use a chemical that is supposed to clean all clogs the pipe, but obviously did not work. I'd rather fix it myself then call someone because it is expensive! With Christmas coming up I have not much money to blow on a repairman. There is a need for what to expect, but I would fix it on my own, if possible.

It should have a reset button at the bottom. Feel around him and inserting it in. It should work after that. If not, you may need to be replaced. It's pretty easy to do and the help box with instructions.
