How To Replace a Whirlpool refrigerator ice maker motor
How does the refrigerator ice maker know how to get out in the middle summer? That's something to think about as long as instructions on how to replace a Whirlpool refrigerator ice maker motor. I'm writing about a Whirlpool refrigerator, because that is what I have, that's what broke and that's what I fixed. Step 1
Before starting to break away your Whirlpool refrigerator, make sure that the engine of the ice maker is the problem. First check the water supply pipe plastic to see if the water is coming to the ice maker. Then make sure that other parts of the refrigerator is receiving power. Do the lights come on to open the door? If these things seem to be working, maybe the ice maker is to blame.
Step 2
HOLD IT! Before to start pulling things apart to consider taking some pictures of the ice maker assembly of the engine. Do not forget you have to put the thing back together. I use my phone for it.
Step 3
Wait again! Please pass the ice maker! Long enough to turn off the power and the water anyway. Probably not necessary to activate them or outside, but an article like this I have to be responsible and say that you do.
Step 4
O. k., go ahead and remove it. First remove the plastic shield in front of the ice maker motor. Gently pull the gear wheel shaft white plastic in front of the motor unit. Then use the screwdriver to remove the screws in the corners of the assembly ice maker motor.

Remove the screws holding the ice maker motor mount to the inside wall refrigerator. Then pull the motor assembly far enough from the wall to expose and cut off the wiring on the side of the ice maker. Now take the whole motor outside the ice maker. Or, you can always order it off ebay and wait until it is delivered to your home.
Step 6
Reconnect the power supply the engine wiring harness new ice. Put the screws in place on the corners of the motor unit. Slide the new sprocket on the shaft. Replace wall mounting inside the refrigerator. Place the shield back and forth water and power. If everything works properly, you should be able to see or hear the factory ice begin to fill with water.
