Want grilled filet mignon on an indoor grill?

I just got a George Foreman Grill as a gift and I am not familiar with grill at all. I want to filet mignon, but I'm not sure what to put heat and how long to leave it … any input would be very grateful. Thanks!

Filet mignon is difficult due to slice thickness. If you accelerate the process, no matter what cooking method you use, the exterior will be out, and the interior is raw (not rare). In restaurants, usually brown a steak in a skillet or on a grill, then place in a preheated oven at 375-400 degrees for a few minutes to finish cooking. Then the meat is allowed to stand for the meat fibers to relax and the juices to redistribute. A George Foreman Grill (GFG) successfully be used with meats that are not very thick, but I would not try one of those beautiful and expensive steaks 2 inches … The following method might work for a butterfly fillet (or finer cut). Otherwise, I like a boneless steak 6.8 oz – like a sirloin or fillet steak – about 3 / 4 inch thick, cooked medium rare. Try this: Take the meat from the refrigerator for about 20 minutes – no more than 30 minutes – they operate, and season with salt and pepper. Preheat GFG. Place meat on grill and close the lid, pressing down firmly against the flesh. After three minutes, open grill, flip the steak over, close the lid – and unplug the grill. Leave the meat on the grill for three minutes. Its meat finishes cooking and rest all at the same time. Take it to the grill and place on a hot plate. This method also works great for burgers.
