Laminate Veneer Home
How can i re-finish my cheap IKEA furniture?
I have a couple of side tables made with (taken from product description):
Top: Particleboard, Fiberboard, ABS plastic, Printed and embossed acrylic paint, Clear acrylic lacquer
Filling material: Paper
And a TV table in:
Main parts/ Drawer front: Particleboard, Birch veneer, Clear acrylic lacquer
And some pieces in the bathroom made from:
Main parts/ Top panel: Particleboard, High-pressure melamine laminate, ABS plastic
Drawer front: Particleboard, Solid beech, Beech veneer
I’ve already tried sanding down the bathroom stuff and painting over it to change the look, but it continues to chip.
I could toss all of it as it’s pretty cheap but I just want to do something original for my home.
Any ideas?

Anytime you repaint cover with a coat of polyurethane. It will seal the paint and prevent chipping. Works on spray paint, enamel and latex paints.
