Laptop Coolers – Do they work while laptop is attached to charger?

I would naturaly think they dont,but I ask this question for the reason I cannot determinate if coolers are working while laptop is shut down and charging or not… afterall,i never close the laptop,i just leave it open on table,and I can see the charger blue light flashing…

If i turn my laptop on I dont hear any clear sound beside CD spinning,if it is in laptop

This is important for me because I read I shouldn’t block cooler place in the middle place of laptop,and I cover my laptop with dust protection over my keyboard and cooler place when I shut it down

If you are talking about chill pads. (A bed for your laptop that has 2 or more fans in it), then it won’t work while your laptop is off, standby or depending on your power settings, even when it is in battery charge. Since they are attached to the USB ports of your laptop and hence need USB power that will be available only when the computer is turned on

If you are talking about internal fans, then you may not hear the fan always since fan turns only on demand, if the sensors demand that the components to be cooled, then it will invoke the fan to turn on. Even the speed and duration is determined automatically.

But if the CPU is turned off, then there is no demand for cooling and the only activity that will take place is your laptop charging.
