Media Cabinet Console

Can Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3 controllers be used while a wooden panel is blocking the console?

Will the controllers still function if the components are in a wooden media cabinet? Is the wireless signal strong enough?

The PS3 controllers work via bluetooth, which will in most cases even work through at least one wall of concrete even though that would reduce the max range … a wooden panel won’t cause any problems. I don’t know for sure for 360 controllers what kind of standard they use, but it should be the same … they definitely don’t need a line of sight and should also work in the next room.

The WII has some sensor bar which uses infrared … so you will need a clear line of sight to the sensor bar, but you could put the console itself inside a lead box or something like that.
