Jumpers can look across the stunning landscapes in the surrounding valley full of towering cliffs and stunning waters as well as Cherry Island while non-jumpers and spectators can view the jump from the cantilevered platform and a number of viewing points down the river access corridor. Guests can also lookout from the inflatable recovery boat on the riverside jetty which is moored there as a safety precaution. Having successfully orchestrated 240,000 jumps with over 100,000 jumpers since it’s’ inception in 1991, Taupo Bungy’s safety record and experience puts even first -timers at ease. Jump masters are on hand to give valuable tips and tricks to make the jump as exciting as well as safe. While solo jumps may require some experience and nerves of steel, Tandem jumps remain an attractive option for everyone as jumping with a friend, colleague or family member can not only reduce anxieties but be a bonding experience as well. Jumps can either have one dipping one’s pinkies in the water or even a full body splash depending on the jumper’s preference while jumpers should let the crew know in advance if they want a dry jump or a high jump. Video and photographic footage of the jump is also recorded on the Splash Cam which can be purchased on DVD minutes after the free fall. A charming garden bar is also on hand for those thirst-quenching drinks and snacks after wards where jumpers can enjoy the raw footage of their jumps while sipping a refreshing drink among friends.
