How to set up a bulb 2, 2 circuit with a timer switch connected to a light?

I want to make a light system in which the operator can activate either switch their lights. Attached to one of the lights is a timer indicating the duration of that particular light has been on. I have little experience of power, but does not sound so difficult. All I need is maybe some suggestions as to what type of parts for use / how to mount.

Just get a timer that starts when it receives power and put it in parallel with the light.
