Can heat protector spray to dry your hair?

I flat iron my hair and others hair 3 using the same iron and spray the heat and the hair comes looking dry, even when hydrated. In fact, my hair seemed dry after I ironed. I have a Sedu and I used the Sedu straightening heat protective impulse. Could be the heat shield that is making my hair look dry?

I have a Sedu flat iron too. Most likely, the spray plate. What temperature is it used? You should use the lowest temperature can be and still get your hair straight. If my hair is dry, I use a few drops of shine serum after flat board. I deep condition once a week to keep it healthy and iron only once or twice a month.
