best way to roast the meat in an oven that has broiler on the bottom?

What better way you do this? The broiler on my oven is all the way at the bottom you to put in the drawer. I'm going to cook filet mignon this weekend, and have said that grilling is the best way forward. However, I fear that the grill is just going to be too close to the fillets and will burn, especially its thickness. Am I wrong here? Is there a better way do this? Besides, nobody has steak cooked on a George Foreman grill-work or out shit. I just do not want to lose the meat because it is so expensive. Thanks!

full proof recipe: Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Season both sides of your steak with kosher salt and fresh black pepper. In a skillet from the oven test, melt 2Tbls. butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Place steaks in skillet for 3-5 minutes to get a nice brown sear. Flip the fillets over and fry for 3 minutes. Using a ovenmit, place the skillet in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or shorter or longer depending on desired doneness. Remove from oven and place on a plate. Cover with foil and let meat rest for 5-10 minutes to seal in juices. Remember – you do not want to cook filet mignon half past. The meat is dry. The meat continues to cook after taking away their source of heat so do not worry if you think your meat is cooked until the end when removing. Still cook in the tent of aluminum. Also, do not want to over season steak with lots of spices. You just want to enhance the natural flavor of the meat.
