Are dog owners who sleep with their dogs a bit weird?

I have read about people who share beds with their pet dogs. Shouldnt the human bed be for said person and their partner. Why would you have a smelly animal in bed with you? Is it lonliness or something more sinister?

They also let the dog lick their face which I find utterly disgusting. Again, very disturbing.

Please by all means lets have a proper adult discussion about this.

People who sleep with their dogs aren’t weird at all mate, my dog either sleeps on my bed or next to me so i can cuddle him. You say ‘Shouldn’t the human bed be for said person and their partner?’ its called a BED not a HUMAN BED and its a place to sleep either person or animal, beds don’t come with a rule book. Dogs don’t smell and if they do then wash them, you need to look after and maintain your pet. And mate im fair sure you get into bed smelly either for a sleep or to lay down, after work or a party etc. and id rather share my bed with an animal then you. Its not loneliness its called company, maybe if you didn’t have such a huge stick up your ass then you might know what it is, with a person or an animal. letting a dog lick your face isn’t disgusting, a dogs tongue is far more cleaner then a humans and you want to talk about disturbing, most men don’t wash their hands after they go take a leak that grosses me out!
