10 pts! How much is a 42″ LG flat screen plasma television worth?

I have a 42″ LG flat screen plasma television that I paid 1200$ for 3 years ago. I’m wanting to sell it to a friend so I can buy a LCD television. How much should would something like that go for or be worth these days? I’m sure It’s lost value since then. Any added information would be helpful, thanks in advance.
and because It’s used, etc, and if you were to sell it, what do you think would be a reasonable price?

3 years ago probably means that it’s a 1080i and not 1080p. I bought a 42″ Philips in January 2006 for $2700, and it’s a 1080i. I tried to upgrade a few months back and wanted at least $500 for it. No go. I ended up keeping it and buying a new Samsung plasma anyway. I’m glad I still have it. It’s still my main TV and neither of my other 2 HDTVs even come close to the quality of my Philips. I actually would have lost out big time had I sold it for $500. Don’t expect to get much more than $450-500. Just keep your old TV. Selling it is not worth it. People automatically assume they can get the same or better quality for $500 at the store but they are gravely mistaken. Unless you’re looking to spend another $1200 this time around, the new TV you get will not be nearly as smart as the one you have now. Maybe just a little crisper, but hardly a difference maker.
