Plastic Toilet Seat
Why won’t the toilet seat come off when I try to remove it? Plastic screws won’t do anything?
The screws get tight when they are turned in one direction but don’t get loose when turned in the other direction, they just stay in there?
Has anyone ever tried to remove or put one of these basic toilet seats on, its actually the one from target that is selling for around $9, the basic almost the cheapest one
Do you have to pull them out or twist the screws out ?
This is to replace the toilet seat with a new one; The one on there now is just a basic toilet seat and the part above the plastic screws snaps off so you can unscrew these long plastic screws. I am turning the plastic screws to remove them but no matter how long I turn them to unscrew them there is no difference, they just stay in there. The new one comes with the same stuff, plastic screws etc ? what do you think is the problem?
If the bolts are stripped, and won’t come off, and you can’t get a saw under the rim to cut off the bolts, take a drill and drill down through the bolt from on top. This will weaken the plastic bolt enough in order for you to break it off. Another way is to use a Dremel tool with a grinding wheel to cut off the bolts. Good luck!
