Shower button is loose, difficult to achieve, and only gives warm water?

I have one of the knobs of the shower to the shower / bathtub pull it to activate and drive that goes out. When you pull, you turn left for hot water and cold water right. Usually, there some resistance when turning in either direction. However, now when I pull the knob to turn the water (which requires much more force to pull than usual), the command is completely loose and I can not change the temperature of water (always warm). I tried tightening the screw in the middle but nothing changes. I read somewhere online that might have a shower valve cartridge wrong, but I'm not sure about that.
