decorating room and making it feel smaller and cosier?

hey ok so my mum has agreed to let me do my room up! im thinking chocolate brown walls? cream duvet and pillows and some cream and brown shaded pillows and stuff. i have wooden floors so maybe a brown rug? do you think this sounds ok? also anymore tips on how to make my room feel smaller? and cosier.. at the moment it feels really bare, empty and COLD! even though its not empty.. well i have a desk and chair with a laptop, a fan on my desk. i have a normal single bed with a desk, i radiator, my door, and i have a kinda indent into my wall with a rail with my clothes, and then my tv. i also have a cork board with pictures of me and my friends and stuff and i have a long mirror.
just any tips really anything you think would be useful to know.
and really wanting to create a warm feeling about my room.

what youve got so far is really good, the warm colours like browns and beige are nice. My cousin has a room like this, they bought striped textured wall paper and painted over it so it looks awesome. This goes half way up the wall, stopped by a wooden skirter thing and then its a cream paint to the ceiling. Maybe add a window seat with some gorgeous cushions, have a mirror but not plain, maybe with swirls in the decoration of the frame and you can hang pretty things on the swirls. I felt the same with my room, that it wasnt cosy but after decorating it with pretty little things i find i really like it! (:
