Why not the freezer section of my refrigerator and freeze I can fix myself?

We have a GE Monogram side by side fridge / freezer. Instead of freezing solid things, everything is heavy. The refrigerator side seems to be working fine. Thanks.

Check for accumulation dust on the coils, either on the back or underneath. Use a vacuum cleaner. That's about all you can do, if not adjust the thermostat. Perhaps the fan is blocked or burnt. You should be able to hear the fan running.
