What would make the remote control of my car to open the trunk?

I have a Toyota Celica 2001 with a new battery. Recently, the remote not open the trunk, but still opens the driver's side door. What could be causing this? Would the remote itself, or something to do with the car?

It is quite possible that the solenoid unit is not working. Open the trunk manually and then test the remote control. If it works, the mechanism Blocking may be necessary adjusted or lubricated. If not, replace solenoid.
