Shabby Half

acrylic paint for furniture?

i have and old table i got for 2 bucks at a yard sale, i sanded and primed it and ready to paint it, but its very small and i dont want to by a half gallon of paint from the store, cna i use my acrylic craft paints?
also how do i give it a shabby chic distressed look?

Well acrylic paint will chip and peel easily on a table, only because you will use a table a lot and many things will be put on and taken off of it. Acrylic paint is used better for picture frames, art projects, things that wont be touched as much. You can use acrylic if you have a kind of sealer clear coat of paint to put over it, which you probably don’t. You could use spray paint, its cheap and it wouldn’t look bad if you did it right. Either way, whatever you choose to use, here’s an easy way to make it look shabby chic distressed:
Apply your paint of choice and let it dry. Take some sand paper and scrape it along the corners, spots along the edges, and maybe some spots on the legs. Then it will look like a piece of furniture you have had for a long time, but still new and different.
