How do I sew a shower curtain?

I’d like to sew a shower curtain using a floral fabric. I’m concerned that the seam down the middle will look bad. The fabric is a standard 44 inch and the curtain is about 72 inches wide. Do you think it will look bad with a seam down the center?

So do what the quilters do with backings and make two seams… split one width of fabric lengthwise, so you’ve got two 22″ widths and one 44″ width. Remove the selvages from all fabric (they pucker and even if you think it’s a shortcut to leave them, it’s not!). Sew them together: 22″+44+22″.

Don’t forget to buy extra fabric so you can match the repeats of the design. http://www.alternative-windows.com/matching-fabric.htm
