Stainless Steel Sinks: Dos and Don’ts
Stainless steel is one of the best metals for kitchen remodeling jobs. They are popular for their sleek look and toughness. Stainless steel surfaces do not get scratched easily. But using abrasive cleaners or rough cleaning pads can scratch the surface. It is suggested that one needs to use recommended cleaning agents and soft cloth to clean the stainless steel surfaces. For everyday cleaning you can use any mild product.
Always try to clean the stainless steel surface with the grain. Try to find grain in the sink and start to clean with the grain. Cleaning with grain is not only applicable for stainless steel sinks but also is applicable for other surfaces made up of stainless steel. By cleaning the stainless steel surface as recommended, you can retain the shine of the sink for decades. To maintain the shine of stainless steel surfaces, cleaning with the best cleaner is not all. You should drain the water and rinse the surface thoroughly to retain the shine of the sink.
It is recommended to use plastic or rubber mats when you keep any utensils on the stainless steel sink surfaces. By using the plastic mats or rubber mats you can prevent any scratch on the surface.
