How do i make ugly wood sliding doors look nicer?

I have a closet with sliding doors in an apartment that i can’t alter preeminently or remove- how can I make them look nicer?

Maybe with fabric, vinyl decals?

I recommend installing a drapery about 2″ above the door and 2″ wider than the closet (on each side). You can pull it closed to hide the sliding door. Choose really unique fabric and cool hardware. Your friends will marvel at your creativity, and you won’t have to alter the door itself in any way.
