Will Morning Glory climb on a solid wood fence like a wall?

I have a wooden fence but the pickets are flush against each other so there is no space between them. So this forms like a solid wall. Will Morning Glory climb up this or does it need more of a trellis? Thanks!

The morning glory needs something to wrap around. Since your fence is solid, you can tie strings to the top of the pickets and run them down to a nail in the ground a couple of inches away from the fence, so there is a little space between the string and the fence. The morning glories will eagerly climb up this “ladder.”
