A New Look for your Square Coffee Table

If you are either looking to purchase a square coffee table, or already own one, you will know how practical they can be to any living space.  This can be the case especially if you were able to find one that is the perfect size for your room and complements the other furniture in the room.  Some of the coffee tables can be quite bland and boring on your own, but the good news is there are things you can do to spice it up a little. 

Try adding fabric or changing the décor a little.  You can add a runner, small tablecloth, or even a doily to add a little bit of color or patterns.  Maybe you always have flowers in the house, a vase with some nice flowers is always a welcomed visual on a coffee table.  Do you have a digital photo frame?  What a great place to show off your loved ones, and see them on a regular basis!

Create some patterns of your own by painting or staining it.  If your point were to make it the focal point of the room, this would definitely accomplish that goal.  You can even add a little antique look to it by staining it and then use sandpaper to give it a weathered look.

If you have a lot of extra brown paper bags or wrapping paper, you can try the decoupage look.  Just rip up the paper, use decoupage adhesive, and smooth it out.  Add a clear coat on the top to make sure it is protected.

How about changing up the legs?  Most coffee tables come with legs that can be removed, so who says you have to use what you were given?  Maybe you are creative and handy enough to carve the existing legs to engrave something special or create a piece of artwork with the legs.  Alternatively, you can use other materials for your legs like baseball bats or metal rods.  It sounds a little random, but it would make for a great conversation piece.

Regardless of what you decide, remember that a little creativity can make anything possible!
