Stripping wooden furniture ?

I have just recently bought an old STAG MINSTREL sideboard and i would like to know if it would be possible to strip it back a bit and stain it again to give it a new lease of life.

Stag furniture was veneered chipboard when we bought some in the sixties, look underneath the sideboard and you may find raw edges.
The veneer we had lasted reasonably well but eventually cracked. If it is in reasonable condition before stripping, which I think may well lift the veneer, try some Liberon Wax and Polish remover used with 0000 grade wire wool. This will remove polish, wax and dirt and you may be happy with the result. Local stockists will be found on www.liberon.co.uk, they may well have an advice service.
Structurally it was still in use after 30 years.
