Steel Overmount

I heard that I should not install a stainless steel sink overmounted granite countertops, why?

there is no reason I can think of of. the only problem might be that the cut and overmounted (self-rimming) sink is bigger than one would for an undermount and make the piece that is cut weak .. but once installed, I think that would have the same integrity. Why this would be a concern with stainless steel and not a porcelain sink is beyond me.
