Five Simple Steps to get rid of Constipation

Constipation is a state when a person has difficulty in passing stool or he has less than three bowel movements in a week. It occurs because of slow passage of digestive food. This generally happens in colon. The stool hardens and it becomes difficult to pass. The best constipation treatment is the natural treatment because it does not have any side effect and one does it at home.

At times, the constipation persists even after following home treatment. In such a case the individual needs to see a doctor and follow the medication given by him.

You can cure your constipation by following few simple steps:

• One should increase the intake of water as soon as one experiences constipation because lack of water in body can result in hardening of stool. Along with simple water lemon, water can also be taken as lemon helps in softening of stool. One should drink this water early in the morning as it helps in cleaning colon.
• Constipation treatment can be done by including fiber in the diet. Fruits, vegetables, wheat, Psyllium seeds are rich in fiber and should included in ones diet. Fiber supplements are also available in the market. One can drink fiber shakes daily. Fiber intake helps in constipation treatment by softening the stool. In order to have constipation free bowel movement one needs to have 40 grams fiber every day.
• Aloe Vera juice helps not only in curing constipation but also prevents it. Aloe Vera can be taken as a supplement. Apart from this if, one should drink the juice twice every day, one early in the morning and another before going to sleep; it helps in smooth bowel movements. Two tablespoon of aloe vera can be taken with apple juice. It can also be taken with other juices. It is even available in capsule. Drinking aloe vera with peppermint tea is a good constipation treatment. Aloe Vera is a good cleanser and it acts strongly in colon therefore it is effective in constipation and if taken regularly it helps regular bowel movement.
• Senna is very effective in constipation treatment. It is a shrub like plant. It is used in various medical preparations. It has a chemical called anthraquinone glycosides. It helps in softening stool and restoring proper bowel movement. It can be taken in form of syrup, medicines and homemade products. It should be taken in low quantities. One or two teaspoon of dried senna leaves are boiled in water. For best results, they are left for ten minutes and then taken. One cup of senna tea can be taken daily.
• Castor oil is another popular and effective constipation treatment. It has been in use since ancient Egyptian era. In modern times, also it is widely used in constipation. The oil is extracted from castor seeds. It can be taken with honey. A teaspoon of castor oil mixed with honey can be taken. It can also be taken in tea form. Slices of fresh ginger can be boiled with water or ginger powder can be mixed in boiling water and castor oil should be added to this mixture. It should be taken before going to bed. It stimulates the walls of intestines and helps in passing of the stool easily.
