The item description specifically states that it is “industrial grade steel.” If it was stainless steel, it probably would cost a lot more and wouldn’t be painted. Also, “industrial grade steel” in this context is no different from regular steel. They are just trying to make it sound good. But it’s just steel, like a car fender, a refrigerator, or an air conditioning duct.

This should NOT be used as a fire cabinet, but if you need something in the garage to hold your paint, this is better than nothing.

This is nowhere near as durable as stainless, but unless you are putting it in a very very damp environment, it shouldn’t make a difference.
