The average height for bar stools is about 30 inches, or 26 inches in kitchen applications. Contemporary styles sometimes use taller stools, that are about 36 inches tall, which creates a visual effect that is striking, in various types of interiors.

Some other materials used in the construction of bar stools include bamboo or rattan, and these give a nice island-feel to a room or deck. You can also buy bar stools that are styled like those of the 50′s and 60′s, and these are nice conversation pieces.
