How to select a high quality bath towel

There are a variety of different bath towel types available on the market. A bath towel differs in quality depending on the material and size of the material that is used to craft it. There are many different types and colors to choose from. The bath towel is used for drying the body after showers. Due to the application the bath towel must be softer and more durable than standard towels. Constant usage and exposure to water can be detrimental to certain materials therefore high quality material must be used. When purchasing a bath towel it is important to test the texture on the skin and thread count. A high thread count will indicate that there is more material per unit within the towel. High thread count indicates that quality materials have been used in creating the bath towel. A poor thread count can lead to tearing and poor absorption.  

When selecting a bath towel it is important to identify the purpose of the towel. There are many starter towels available on the market for specialized uses. Dishwashing towels and bath towels have similar traits. A material known as terry is widely used for washing towels. Terry is an extremely efficient absorbent that has a comfortable texture. Evaporation is an important factor in washing towels. For increased absorption, cotton towels are used frequently. Cotton and crash linen is the highest absorbent material and is used for dishwashing and bath towels. A bath towel can come in a variety of colors and patterns. For frequent use standard cotton or terry bath towels in white will suffice. Special areas of the household such as guest bathrooms and hotel rooms can be adorned with more decorative bath towel types. A decorative bath towel comes with patterns and designs that enhance the patterns of the bathroom. If a bath towel is used simply for decoration it is important that it accents the designs of the bathroom.  

Several different types such as Egyptian and Brazilian are made of high quality linen and can be expensive and quality materials such as Egyptian cotton can be difficult to find. The value of a bath towel varies with the quality and design.
