Throw Decor Pillow

Are green and orange considered complementary colors?

I’ve painted my walls a light avocado-y green (Behr Grasscloth) and would like to introduce some orange into my decor, perhaps through throw pillows or other accessories, but I’m not sure if these colors go well together.

Yes, because an Orange is Green before it Ripen. Many colors when used properly will complement each other. But, say you want Pink and Purple. The Purple would be used as the predominant color and the pink be small enhancements. Hard to really explain. But, look at a color wheel. The Primary colors are made from Red, Blue and Yellow. If, I remember correct, so try to see this, all colors are made from these three, thus they have to complement each other as they a part of each other.
What you mention; The walls are your predominant color. The Orange can be pillows and maybe even “Knobs” on doors and drawers. Small little enhancements here and there. Then other Greens and some Earth Tones. Maybe a very light brown and yellow in Curtains. But, allow the predominant color to lead the show.
