Different types of bath towels

In many countries where the use of bath towels is not known, they use disposable towels. These towels are made of thick tissue material that is recycled paper. The major problem with the use of these towels is, it dissolves easily when it comes in contact with water. They also form small papery balls that may stick on to the body. It is also a big waste of paper if it has to be used as towels. Hence the use of more durable bath towels is better.

Bath towels are of many types, most often they are made of cloth. The cotton is woven into long strips of cloth that is cut into pieces of sufficient size. These towels are very absorbent and most durable in nature. The durability and the life of the towel is based on the quality of the material used in making the towels. Recently, Turkish bath towels have become very famous. These are made of cotton, but are thicker than normal.

The use of organic materials in the bath towels has come into use recently. In some countries there is a restriction that soil polluted with pesticides should not be used for the cultivation of cotton. Hence it is not used for the manufacture of bath towels as these have been known to cause some allergies to the people who have used it. Instead they use organic materials like bamboo and cotton. Those who have frequent allergies and irritations from using synthetic bath towels can go in for the use of cotton organic towels as they are the best absorbents and are hypoallergenic.

Bamboo bath towels are also good. The cellulose from the bamboo is used in making rayon. The rayon made from the bamboo makes a 100% organic towel. These bamboo towels are eco- friendly as well as show good absorbance properties. Cotton takes a long time to grow, where as bamboo is fast growing and hence can be harvested sooner. It is also a natural renewable resource that can be replenished now and then. Bamboo bath towels are naturally anti fungal and anti bacterial in nature. They also dry fast and absorb more compared to cotton. Bamboo bath towels have a thing that they feel softer after a single wash. On comparing the prices between the cotton bath towels and the bamboo robes, the latter is definitely much more costly, but when looking at the advantages it is very much worth its price.
