Traditional Cocktail Table

Since people say that cocktail hour food is better in general than dinners that are served?

Why do so many people get upset if you want to serve more of the “good food” that they like rather than what they don’t like (the same chicken or beef that everyone says they are bored with), just because it’s “traditional”? If it equals the same amount of food, why does it matter if one is passed or cooked on site at food stations rather than someone being served a plate of cold food at a table they can’t get up from? Is there an unspoken law somewhere that you have to do things a certain way just because everyone else (including the wedding magazines) say you do?

I am very against “unspoken laws that you have to do something a certain way just because everyone else says you have to”. I want our wedding to represent our personality, so I am doing a lot of things untraditonally. Also, I think it is rather rude of people to get upset when you tell them your wedding plans-it’s your’s not theirs! You shouldn’t feel obligated to do something just because someone else wants that at your wedding. I guess that’s my venting for the day : )
